Biography

In her recent role as editor in chief of the Weddzilla Blog, Heather revitalized and restructured what was once a top-ranked site. Within a five-month timeframe, she successfully recruited a team of more than 60 talented writers, including celebrities, respected industry gurus, real couples and expert vendors, who offered readers a diverse and unprecedented blending of perspectives. By fully reframing the editorial process and directing the submission of more than 10 posts per day, Heather more than tripled the site’s readership to the highest levels in its history.

Previously, Heather devoted five years to serving as a congressional aide in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she attained a managerial position on the staff of a respected committee. There, she participated in a wide range of projects, with areas of experience including web content development, writing and editing. During this time, Heather also gained recognition within the online wedding community by sharing daily inspiration and advice via her blog, Bicoastal Bride, and as a featured blogger for such well-known sites as Weddzilla, Get Married, WedAlert and The DC Ladies.

Heather has been featured in Get Married Magazine and SELF Magazine, on Blog Talk Radio, and serves as a founding board member for the charity Wish Upon a Wedding DC. A passionate writer and editor, she brings to the table a solid educational background in journalism, along with established relationships within the wedding and publishing industries. Heather holds a wedding coordination certificate from Northern Virginia Community College, enjoys working with her own clients, and is also a master’s student in publishing at The George Washington University.
